Gibson MK-81 1977 Electro Acoustic Guitar

This guitar is in great condition for its age, as is it’s original case.

The guitar is one of only 430 made and was produced for only a short period, Both the back and sides of my MK-81 are made of solid rosewood, the top is solid spruce. The neck is curly maple, the fingerboard is ebony with abalone block inlays, gold plated hardware as well as black and red bindings. Other features include Gibson jumbo frets.

The guitar also has a pick up fitted which looks to be original from the factory. Between 1975 and 1978, Gibson produced the Mark series of flat top acoustics which were designed by Michael Kasha and Richard Schneider. The MK-81 has a 16 3/16-inch wide body and were narrower at the waist than a normal dreadnought. Some innovative features offered with the MK series were a modified fan-pattern bracing style, an asymmetrical bridge, a removable pickguard and interchangeable saddles. Perfect for the player and collector alike.

The guitar comes with the original bill of sale as well as the original interchangeable bridge pieces in original packaging. This guitar is a real time capsule piece.
