Monty’s 54 stratocaster pickups – recreation of the earliest sets of strat pickups produced. As with all Monty’s original series pickups. These pickups are based on originals from early vintage guitars.
These pickups have a mid-range characteristic that borders on that familiar telecaster tone providing width and fatness perfectly complementing the snap of the maple board without losing clarity or good harmonics.
This mid range means that these pickups can push an amplifiers preamp when needed to highlight attack.
Wonderfully fat, clear driven sound with more than a touch of that old Tele twang.
Like all Monty’s stratocaster pickups (and just like old Fender pickups), their ’54 pickups are only partially wax potted.
This keeps the centre of the coil free free from wax enabling it to breath, resulting in increased clarity and responsiveness.

Yes, all of our new guitars are personally set up for optimal tone and playability in-store by Ant, our owner. Ant is an expert guitar technician and has been playing for over 39 years.
Used guitars vary, and as such we would recommend visiting our store to try them out prior to purchase. All used guitars are thoroughly inspected and assessed prior to listing.
All new guitars come with a standard 12 month manufacturer’s warranty.
Used guitars are warranted for 1 month.
