The Monty’s Retro Wind Telecaster pickups set have vintage twang with a bit of a twist. Modelled on the pickups from a ’68 Tele and tweaked to perfection, the Retro Wind Tele set is for anyone after a vintage-voiced pickup set designed with the modern player in mind.
Boasting a lively tone which reacts massively to your amount of attack applied to the strings.
The Retro Winds are ideal for everything from clean and twangy to classic rock.
Voiced for a chimey, bell like tone, somewhat similar to the Stratocaster neck pickup and just a tad more open than a lot of vintage Tele neck pickups.
Voiced with all the twang you would expect of a vintage pickup, with sweetened high frequencies, giving sparkling tone that is open, percussive and full of harmonics without ever suffering from the so called Telecaster ‘ice-pick’.
The bridge and neck pickups blend together in perfect harmony for a bright tele middle position.
Like all our Tele pickups, our Retro Winds are only partially potted helping the centre of the coil free from wax, resulting in increased clarity and responsiveness.
Vintage correct cloth wire and volcanized Fibreboard flatwork are married with a RWRP neck pickup for a hum cancelling middle position.
In addition, the neck pickup cover is grounded separately, ensuring that installing a 4 or 5-way loom (like Monty’s 5-way) is an easy project.

Yes, all of our new guitars are personally set up for optimal tone and playability in-store by Ant, our owner. Ant is an expert guitar technician and has been playing for over 39 years.
Used guitars vary, and as such we would recommend visiting our store to try them out prior to purchase. All used guitars are thoroughly inspected and assessed prior to listing.
All new guitars come with a standard 12 month manufacturer’s warranty.
Used guitars are warranted for 1 month.
